Spider-Man Skins in Fortnite: Peter B. Parker Outfit Receives Backlash from Community

Fans of the popular battle royale game Fortnite were recently thrilled to hear that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse skins would be coming to the game's Item Shop. Three new skins from the movie were leaked online, featuring Spider-Man Noir, Peter B. Parker, and Spider-Punk. While early glimpses of these skins have been well-received by fans, one of the costumes in particular - Peter B. Parker's outfit - has not.

The Design Controversy: Peter B. Parker's Pink Robe

Shared by Fortnite insider @ShiinaBR, images of the Across the Spider-Verse skins have been circulating online, giving fans a sneak peek at the upcoming cosmetics. While Spider-Man Noir and Spider-Punk seem to have pleased the Fortnite community, many are unhappy with Peter B. Parker's design. In Across the Spider-Verse, Peter B. Parker wears a large pink robe over his Spider-Man suit. This has been adopted by Fortnite's take on the character, but with a twist - there are no alternate styles available to equip the Spider-Man mask or change the pink robe.

A Missed Opportunity? Fortnite Players Want a Classic Spider-Man Skin

For years, Fortnite players have been requesting a "classic" or "standard" Spider-Man skin that they can purchase in the Item Shop. Although one did become available during Chapter 3 Season 1, it was only accessible through the Battle Pass. Unfortunately, Peter B. Parker's massive pink robe - which cannot be removed - has dashed the hopes of players who thought this new skin might be the closest thing to a normal Spidey skin in Fortnite.

Community Reactions

Gamers on social media have expressed their disappointment with Peter B. Parker's design. Reddit users JJGG_ and Falcond0rf shared their thoughts on the situation, lamenting the fact that the default appearance is unchangeable. "So much potential wasted, that design is horrible. What was going through Epic’s mind?" asked JJGG_. "I love the other two skins but not gonna lie the bathrobe being the only style is really disappointing," Falcond0rf added.

Will Epic Games Respond to Feedback?

While Epic Games has yet to respond to these complaints, the company has shown in 2024 that it's willing to take feedback from the community and make changes to specific cosmetics if necessary. While there's no guarantee that this will happen with Peter B. Parker's skin, fans remain hopeful that Epic will take their feedback into consideration and possibly update the design in the future.
