Xbox Game Pass: 13 Games Leaving the Service This Month

Xbox Game Pass subscribers, be aware that 13 games will be removed from the service later this month, including two major horror titles. This update marks the departure of several games, with some leaving on December 15 and others on December 31.

Games Leaving Xbox Game Pass on December 15:

  • Amnesia: The Bunker - a first-person survival horror game set in a WW1 bunker
  • Forager - a unique blend of exploration, crafting, and farming
  • Forza Horizon 4 - an open-world racing game set in the UK
  • Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan - a colorful platformer with a unique art style
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider - an action-adventure game in the Tomb Raider series
  • The Quarry - a survival horror game set in a summer camp
  • Tin Hearts - a unique game that combines puzzle-solving with a love story

Games Leaving Xbox Game Pass on December 31:

  • BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle - a fighting game featuring characters from the BlazBlue and Persona series
  • Close to the Sun - a sci-fi horror game set in the year 1897
  • Humankind - a turn-based strategy game set in a historical setting
  • LEGO 2K Drive - an open-world racing game set in a LEGO world

A Hit to Horror Fans

Horror fans will feel the loss of these two games, particularly "The Quarry" and "Amnesia: The Bunker", which are being removed from the service soon after losing "Hello Neighbor 2" and "The Walking Dead: The Final Season" last month. Although these games aren't the best in the horror genre, they're some of the few available on Xbox Game Pass.

What's the Big Deal?

While fans of horror games may be sad to see these titles go, they can still purchase each game with a 20 percent discount while it's still available on Xbox Game Pass. And, considering the relatively short playtime of these games (9-11 hours for "The Quarry" and 5-7 hours for "Amnesia: The Bunker"), it's still possible to beat them before they're removed from the service.
