Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Happy Meal Promotion Unveiled

Images of the toys first leaked online last month, and now we have a commercial that was posted by McDonald's Columbia. The commercial, although currently private, was shared by several Sonic fans across the internet before being taken down. In the leaked clip, Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, and Shadow deliver Happy Meals to hungry kids, only to be followed by a showcase of the toys themselves.

Inside the Happy Meal Promotion

The Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Happy Meal promotion will feature a total of 12 toys, divided among four main characters: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow. Each character will have slightly different expressions and poses, with two figures each of Super Sonic and Super Shadow. The inclusion of these two forms would suggest that the movie will follow a similar plot to that of Sonic Adventure 2, with a climactic finale that utilizes the power of the Chaos Emeralds.

What to Expect and Why?

The commercial gives us a glimpse into the toys that will accompany the Happy Meal promotion, which has sent fans into a frenzy. Given the fact that Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Happy Meal toys were released in the U.S. in 2022, it is hard to imagine that this promotion won't be released here as well. Box office predictions for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 are very strong, and it would seem that McDonald's wouldn't want to miss out on promoting one of 2024's last big movies.

Will the Toys Be Released in the U.S.?

It is not yet confirmed whether the U.S. McDonald's locations will participate in this promotion. With a plethora of other promotions happening around the same time, including the Pet Simulator and Pokémon TCG promotions, it remains to be seen whether Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Happy Meal toys will make an appearance in U.S. McDonald's.
