Microsoft Announces Price Increases and New Plan for Xbox Game Pass in Brazil
Microsoft has revealed significant changes to the Xbox Game Pass, including price increases and a new subscription plan, particularly targeting new users in Brazil.
New Standard Plan
A new plan called Xbox Game Pass Standard is being introduced, aimed at new subscribers. Here are the key details:
- This plan will not include new games on the day of their release.
- It will not offer Xbox Cloud Gaming.
- However, it will include Xbox Live Gold for online multiplayer.
- The price for this plan in the US will be $14.99, which translates to approximately R$ 81.22 in Brazil. The exact Brazilian pricing is yet to be confirmed.
- The Standard plan is expected to launch in the coming months, with rumors suggesting a September release.
Price Increases for Existing Plans
Most existing Game Pass plans, except for the console-only plan, will see price increases but no changes in their functionality:
- Ultimate Plan: Increasing from R$ 49.99 to R$ 59.99 per month.
- Game Pass Core (12 months): Increasing from R$ 199.99 to R$ 249.99.
- PC Game Pass: Increasing from R$ 29.99 to R$ 35.99 per month.
These price changes will take effect on September 12, 2024, for existing members, and new members will see these changes starting July 10, 2024.
Discontinuation of Console-Only Plan
The "Game Pass for consoles" plan will be discontinued. However, current subscribers to this plan can continue their subscription without any disruptions. New games will still be added to the service on their release day.
These changes reflect Microsoft's ongoing efforts to adjust and enhance the Xbox Game Pass service to better meet user needs and market conditions.
