The Witcher Book Series Returns with 'Raven Crossroads'

After a decade of dominating the gaming and television landscapes, The Witcher is set to make its literary comeback. Series author Andrzej Sapkowski has been working on a new book, and exciting details have been revealed in the November issue of Nowa Fantastyka magazine.

A New Chapter in the Saga

Titled Rozdroże Kruków, which translates to "Raven Crossroads," the new book is set to shake up the world of The Witcher. Although an official English translation has not been confirmed, fans can expect the title to be something along the lines of "Raven's Crossing" or "Crossroads of the Raven."

The cover art, which features Geralt facing a mysterious creature in a cemetery setting, sets the tone for a thrilling adventure. According to Sapkowski, Geralt will be the main character in the new book, but little was known about the plot and timeline until now.

A Younger Geralt Takes Center Stage

The official plot description reveals that "Raven Crossroads" will follow a younger Geralt during his teenage years, as he takes his first steps into the world of witchcraft. Armed with two runic swords, Geralt will face numerous challenges, battling monsters, saving innocent virgins, and aiding unhappy lovers. As he navigates his youthful idealism, he must also confront the harsh realities of life.

A New Direction for the Series

This prequel marks a departure from Sapkowski's previous reluctance to explore prequel or sequel series. If "Raven Crossroads" is well-received, it may pave the way for additional stories set during this timeframe. As for a potential sequel, only time will tell, but fans of the series are eager to see how their favorite characters' stories unfold.

Release Dates and Exclusive Content

The first chapter of "Raven Crossroads" is now available in the latest issue of Nowa Fantastyka. Polish readers can look forward to the full book release on December 1st. International release dates have yet to be confirmed, but stay tuned for updates.
