Square Enix has just dropped the biggest update yet for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and it's packed with exciting features. Since its launch in 2024, FFVII Rebirth has received only four patches, mostly focusing on bug fixes and stability improvements. However, update version 1.050 is a game-changer, bringing significant enhancements to the table. Available now for download on PS5, this substantial update makes FFVII Rebirth compatible with the upcoming PS5 Pro, set to launch on November 7th.
To take full advantage of the new hardware, Square Enix has introduced a new 'Versatility Mode' in the graphical options. This innovative feature boosts both the game's fidelity and performance simultaneously, offering an unparalleled gaming experience for PS5 Pro owners. While Versatility Mode is exclusive to PS5 Pro, Square Enix has also included other fixes and improvements in this patch, although the full patch notes have not been released yet. As soon as they become available, we'll be sure to share them with you.
The update, patch 1.050, is now live, and Square Enix has confirmed that it contains bug fixes, functionality improvements, and stability enhancements, in addition to the new Versatility Mode. 'Final Fantasy VII Rebirth patch 1.050 is available now,' announced Square Enix. 'This update contains fixes for some bugs and improvements in functionality and stability while also implementing 'Versatility Mode', offering a new experience for all PlayStation 5 Pro players from launch on Thursday.'
The PS5 Pro, Sony's revamped and more powerful version of the PlayStation 5, is just around the corner. In addition to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, several other PS5 games, including Marvel's Spider-Man 2, God of War Ragnarok, Demon's Souls, Alan Wake 2, Horizon Forbidden West, and Gran Turismo 7, will receive upgrades for the new hardware.
