Rumors have been circulating that Metal Gear Solid Delta may not meet its initially rumored 2024 release date, but series producer Noriaki Okamura has shed some light on the game's development.
In an interview with Games Radar, Okamura revealed the team's approach to remaking the classic title, saying, 'Our goal is to ensure that it still feels like the game you played 20 years ago, but without feeling old.' This statement should provide some reassurance to fans eager for a nostalgia-infused experience.
Okamura further explained that his team avoided making unnecessary changes to Metal Gear Solid Delta, instead opting to refine certain aspects to prevent the game from feeling dated. To put this into perspective, the original Metal Gear Solid 3 was released on November 17, 2004, almost two decades ago.
The remake will feature two difficulty modes, allowing players to choose between a classic experience or a more modern take on the game, as revealed by producer Yuji Korekado in a separate interview. Metal Gear Solid Delta is scheduled for release on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5, although a specific launch date has yet to be confirmed.
