Xbox 360 Games Being Delisted: What You Need to Know

As of today, December 6, Xbox fans will no longer be able to purchase or access a selection of 12 Xbox 360 games from Sega. This includes iconic titles such as Altered Beast, Crazy Taxi, Golden Axe, and Sonic the Fighters.

Affected Games

  • Altered Beast
  • Crazy Taxi
  • Golden Axe
  • Monster World
  • Nights Into Dreams
  • SEGA Bass Fishing
  • SEGA Genesis Classics
  • Shinobi
  • Sonic the Fighters
  • Streets of Rage
  • SVC: ToeJam & Earl
  • Virtua Fighter 2

These games were previously available on Xbox Live Arcade and will no longer be available for purchase digitally, although existing owners can continue to download and play them. It's likely that these games will reappear in the future as part of a collection, remaster, or remake, rather than as individual purchases.

Impact on SEGA Franchises

Some of the affected franchises, such as Crazy Taxi, Golden Axe, Shinobi, and Streets of Rage, have new installments in development, ensuring their continued legacy. However, others have been dormant for an extended period and may remain less accessible than before.

Reason Behind Delisting

Sega has not provided a public statement on why these games have been delisted, leaving fans and analysts to speculate.
