Last month, leaker Ryan from the Bronx mentioned a Sonic game under the codename "Guinness," which many fans suspect is a remake of Sonic Heroes. In a new post, Ryan has confirmed that two Sonic games are "in full production" and will be released in 2025 and 2026. One game is a remake or remaster, while the other is a follow-up to Sonic Frontiers.
Sega's Pattern of Releasing Remakes and Remasters
Sega has a history of releasing remakes and remasters in the Sonic franchise. In 2021, Sonic Colors received a remake, followed by Sonic Generations in 2024. This trend suggests that Sega will continue to revisit classic games, including Sonic Heroes, which has never received a re-release or remaster.
